Emmarie grew up with a Mother who suffered from Histrionic Personality Disorder. So from early life she was put in competition against her Mother by her Mother. While simultaneously having to remain pretty enough to not embarrass or bring her Mother’s image down.  But never ever prettier. And while this was never explicitly said, it was well understood by the obsession with her appearance, dramatic attempts to bring attention back to herself when her daughter was the center of it, and the looks of disapproval when she wasn’t the one being gushed over. And as for her Father, he died at a very young age of 4. During a robbery gone wrong in a bad neighborhood he was shot and killed on scene. This triggered a sudden, abrupt move from everyone and everything Emmarie and her Mother knew to the suburbs in a prissy little town on the other side of the state. Where they would pick up and start from scratch. Her Mother would get a job as a model and catch a lot of attention in their new town and get people talking which would subsequently make Emmarie a target of gossip as well. Her Mother would jump from man to man and be labeled the town whore and her daughter would become the shiny new toy to rip to shred at school due to the parent’s sickening treatment of Emmarie’s Mother. Monkey see, monkey do, right? The bullying would be so bad she couldn’t go to any class, the bathroom, lunch, get on the bus, or even stand outside without a mean word spoken or a physical assault being bestowed upon her by males and females alike. They didn’t discriminate. This lead to suicidal ideation and self harm for Emmarie. She began cutting and burning herself regularly in places that weren’t openly visible. Until she was caught one day…. by her Mother!
