If you could meet a historical figure, who would it be and why?
Hands down, Hariet Tuban. She was born into slavery and the era of women being seen as less than their male counterparts. But she helped save many enslaved people escape to freedom from it… after she herself found a way out! Isn’t that just… amazing? AND get this, she didn’t lose not ONE passenger on her voyages to a new life for them on that underground railroad either. Not a single one. THEN she also went on to also support the women’s suffrage movement to stand up for another cause that was close to home for her. She was a force to be reckoned with and made a difference in the lives of many. She was known as “Moses” for her endless contributions to bettering the lives of slaves and women through breaking free of the chains of oppression. Being able to meet and know her, even briefly, would be an honor I’m not worthy of but would be so smitten by. This world needs more warriors and selfless saviors like her. It would be so much better off if we loved and fought for each other like that. Could you imagine?
